Education Support in Malawi

DFID has pledged £11.59m investment for education reform in Malawi. The commitment comprises £7m capital for education infrastructure, £4.4m support to MERIT (Malawi Early Reading Improvement Activity) and £0.19m for technical support over two years.  Through USAID’s MERIT (Malawi Early Reading Improvement Activity), DFID will support 650,000 children to become literate and will complete program activities with a small innovation fund as well as provision of analytical support for sector reforms.
